Rishto Ka Camp in Mumbra: A Community Initiative by AWAAM India NGO Bringing Hope to Families

In every society, marriage is more than a personal milestone—it is a bond that connects families, values, and futures. Yet for many families in urban areas like Mumbra, finding suitable marriage prospects for unmarried or divorced sons and daughters has become an emotional and financial challenge. Recognizing this silent struggle, AWAAM India NGO stepped forward with RISHTO KA CAMP, a thoughtful, community-driven initiative designed to restore dignity, trust, and hope through collective support.

In recent times, families have been facing increasing difficulties due to rising marriage expenses, lack of trustworthy matchmaking platforms, and social hesitation—especially for divorced individuals. Digital platforms often feel impersonal, while paid marriage bureaus are not affordable for everyone. The need for a free, reliable, and culturally sensitive solution had never been greater. RISHTO KA CAMP was organized at a crucial moment to address these gaps and provide immediate relief to the community.

Many Muslim families in Mumbra struggle to find ethical and respectful matrimonial support. Parents often feel helpless when navigating the marriage process alone, particularly when dealing with social stigma attached to divorce. The absence of community-based, inclusive, and affordable platforms created a pressing social issue—one that affected emotional well-being, family harmony, and social unity. Addressing this concern required more than a service; it required compassion and collective responsibility.

AWAAM India NGO, guided by its commitment to community welfare and social impact, designed RISHTO KA CAMP as a free-entry, free-biodata submission initiative. The goal was to remove financial barriers and provide a dignified, confidential environment where families could submit biodata and photographs of their unmarried or divorced sons and daughters. The approach emphasized transparency, respect, and trust—values deeply rooted in community welfare.

The Muslim Rishto Ka Camp was successfully held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Anil Bhagat Bungalow, near Old Petrol Pump, Dattuwadi, opposite Mumbra Railway Station.

The event was conducted with the blessings of Khanqah-e-Arifia and was jointly organized by AWAAM, Khuddam-e-Millat, and Khidmat-e-Khalq Trust. Strong support was provided by Khuddam-e-Millat Marriage Bureau and Social Worker Anil Bhagat Bhai.

Volunteers assisted families in submitting biodata and photographs, explained the process clearly, and ensured confidentiality. The calm and respectful atmosphere helped participants feel comfortable and valued, reinforcing trust in the initiative.

The success of RISHTO KA CAMP was evident through strong community participation:

  • Approximately 200 individuals and families attended
  • Hundreds of biodata and photographs were collected
  • Both unmarried and divorced candidates were supported equally
  • 100% free registration and assistance provided

These numbers highlight the relevance and effectiveness of AWAAM India NGO’s community-focused approach.

One parent shared how their divorced daughter had faced repeated rejection, leading to emotional stress for the entire family. At the camp, they felt respected and hopeful after finding a supportive platform that treated everyone equally.

Another family expressed relief at discovering a trustworthy alternative to expensive marriage bureaus. The camp not only reduced their financial burden but also restored confidence in community-based solutions.

The event was documented through photographs and videos capturing meaningful moments—families interacting with volunteers, forms being filled with care, and expressions of hope and gratitude. These visuals reflect the true spirit of unity, compassion, and social responsibility that defined the day.

Encouraged by the positive response, AWAAM India NGO plans to organize more RISHTO KA CAMP initiatives in the future. Community members are encouraged to participate, volunteer, support, and spread awareness so that more families can benefit from these efforts.

By standing together, we can strengthen community bonds, reduce social challenges, and create lasting social impact in Mumbra and beyond. Join hands with AWAAM India NGO and be part of a movement that turns compassion into action.
